Patient or Case based disk storage problem

Patient File Storage

Doctors, Dentists, Hospitals and other medical institutions have a unique set of problems when it comes to patient data-storage. HIPAA requires that patient data be stored in specific ways. Old-fashioned chart storage is space-consuming and causes loss of patient data.

The Privacy Rule

The HIPAA Privacy Rule establishes national standards to protect individuals’ medical records and other personal health information and applies to health plans, health care clearinghouses, and those health care providers that conduct certain health care transactions electronically.  The Rule requires appropriate safeguards to protect the privacy of personal health information, and sets limits and conditions on the uses and disclosures that may be made of such information without patient authorization. The Rule also gives patients rights over their health information, including rights to examine and obtain a copy of their health records, and to request corrections.

Electronic media means:
  • Electronic storage media including memory devices in computers (hard drives) and any removable/transportable digital memory medium, such as magnetic tape or disk, optical disk, or digital memory card; or
  • Transmission media used to exchange information already in electronic storage media. Transmission media include, for example, the internet (wide-open), extranet (using internet technology to link a business with information accessible only to collaborating parties), leased lines, dial-up lines, private networks, and the physical movement of removable/transportable electronic storage media. Certain transmissions, including of paper, via facsimile, and of voice, via telephone, are not considered to be transmissions via electronic media, because the information being exchanged did not exist in electronic form before the transmission.

Patient information storage, in paper or hard-copy folders, is an invitation to violation of privacy.

The Solution

Disk-store has a simple, inexpensive solution to your problem of client file privacy and security.

Doctor and Patient

All of our CD & DVD storage inserts fit into 3-ring binders or can be filed into a file folder. One of our single disk products also has holes punched for vertical storage (like the 2-pronged storage for medical charts).

For Medical Researchers, our CD and DVD storage inserts organize your archives, protect the disks and save 75% or more of shelf or drawer space.

Disk-Store inserts store 1 to 8 disks per page. They are manufactured from 7.5 mil industrial strength vinyl, designed with special embossing to make sure that disks don't stick. Your valuable disks will be protected from damage by our high-quality vinyl pockets. The openings even have locking straps to keep disks secure, no matter what position the binder is in.

Disk-store disk storage inserts are manufactured in the USA from heavy-duty vinyl.

Our newest product, for CD and DVD storage, has an organizational twist. This new storage insert includes an index card pocket for each disk; that way, the disk contents can be labeled easily.

Medical Chart Storage

We offer downloadable templates, on our site, for Doctors, Researchers, Lawyers and other professionals that have case-based disk-storage. We also have general-use templates.

Each insert stores 4 CDs or DVDs, with index cards. The new insert is manufactured from 8.0 mil industrial strength vinyl, designed with our special non-stick embossing.

Our disk storage inserts fit standard 3-ring binders.

Software storage

Is your software disk and license storage a disaster? Is it impossible to put your hands on the original disk and license for a particular machine? We help out with a unique product and a simple strategy.
