Letter from the President of Disk-Store
Dear Disk-Store visitor,
I want to tell you the story behind this line of
products.
I had a problem. My wife and I have three boys, and we all like to listen to
music. We have CD players in the living room, kitchen, office and in the boys
rooms as well as in both cars. We had piles of CDs in their jewel cases almost
everywhere in the house. To neaten up the CD mess, we tried almost every kind
of CD holder, case, or rack we could find. I still was not satisfied.
The problem was the amount of space a CD takes up
with the jewel case. The other problem was the jewel cases broke easily and got
separated from the CD. When that happens there is no place to store the CD to
protect it from scratches. So in addition to piles of CDs we had stacks of CDs
without jewel cases.
We also got a DVD player for the family for the
holidays. Well, if I thought the CD jewel cases were bad, the DVD cases were
twice as bad. Now, we don’t have very many movies, yet but I can see the
problem cropping up on DVDs too.
I searched the Internet and could not find a thing
to solve our problem. Months went by and finally my wife saw a binder with
inserts to hold CDs in a catalog. I was very happy at first but when the
product came I was disappointed because the CD inserts were flimsy and the
notebook was too fancy. The cost was through the roof. Each binder held only 20
CDs with their liner notes and cost $40! We would be out many hundreds of
dollars to house our family’s CD collection (not to mention our DVD
collection).
I liked the idea but didn’t like the way it was
executed and priced. Since I have a background in manufacturing I thought I
could do better myself. After a few tries we came up with great products for
CDs and DVDs, at fair prices. Our friends and our kid’s friends had the same
problem. In fact, when our friends saw what we were doing they wanted inserts
for their own collections. Since we had to make thousands at a time I thought
I’d offer them to the public via the Internet.
We built these inserts out of over 7-mil thick
industrial strength vinyl. This is twice as strong as the one in the catalog.
It is a special texture to insure the disks don’t stick. Each insert has a
locking strap so that whichever way you hold the binder your valuable CDs and
DVD are secure. The liner note pocket on the DVDs is extra wide to take the
largest graphic booklet. In short, these inserts are designed to solve problems
without breaking the bank!
Did I tell you about the reduction in storage? One
of the great byproducts was the reduction in storage for our music. The 2-sided
CD insert can store 50 CDs with liner notes in 2” of shelf space. That compares
to 19” of shelf space needed to store the jewel cases. Our entire collection of
DVDs fit into a 1 ½” standard loose-leaf binder.
We decided you could pick the level and size binder
you want. The boys picked standard loose-leaf binders with covers that they
could decorate. We use a wood grained plastic binder with a card pocket on the
back that we bought at a local office store.
You can get thin ones for a few CDs or DVDs or wide ones that will hold
a hundred or more disks. The binders can cost as little as $2.00 or you can get
custom decorated keepsake binders for upwards of $50.
The beauty of the system is that you can have
notebooks near each CD player. Move the inserts to the CD player where you want
to hear that music. We even keep a binder with inserts in the cars. No more
piles of jewel cases and no more CDs without jewel cases getting damaged.
Another idea occurred to me.
We have several computers and I’m always looking for the original CD, the
booklet or the serial number for Windows® or application software. Now using
the CD holders and insert envelopes I have a way to store all of the software
CDs and DVDs, booklets, official licenses, receipts, upgrade E-mails, in a
binder for each machine. When my ISP saw this he flipped and ordered enough for
each of his servers. This system reduces the overall space and provides
organization.
One thing that is important to me is the way I conduct
business. These CD and DVD inserts and software pouches are guaranteed. In fact, they are
unconditionally guaranteed. The unconditional guarantee is simple: If you don’t
like any Disk-Store product, just return it within 30 days and we’ll give you a
cheerful and immediate refund (or credit to your credit card). That's it!
Thank you
Joel Levitt
PS This is a product that you have to try it to see
how much space it saves and how useful it is. With the unconditional guarantee
there is no risk. The reward will be a storage and organization problem solved.
